01-Jun to 07-Jun 2014

Sun 01-Jun
Off to the big garden show at Wood Green Animal Shelter this morning, and a lovely warm sunny day. Unfortunately a bit disappointing this year. Not so many stalls and loud pop music being played over the loudspeaker system. Here we are having lunch. Amelia, sat in her pushchair for two hours, is just about to set off on her first of many sorties away from the scene. She loved the feeling of grass on her bare feet. Becky & Beth decided to wear different dresses this year for a change. Look pretty similar to me. ~;0)

Mon 02-Jun
An hour and a half sweating over the iMac and Connor had finished his homework assignment, to write about his time at Wheatfields school. Thinks it's going in the front of a book summarising his work at the school, before he moves on to senior school in September. Was expecting Sammy to be around to complete his too, but on the last day of school holidays not sure homework is high on his priorities.

Tue 03-Jun
Happy few hours pottering around in the garden this afternoon. Part desperation, trying to get things planted and organise the dozens of cuttings I've got before we head off to Scotland on Thursday. Here's the front border, now full of geraniums, begonias and stuff.

Wed 04-Jun
Off on the train to Scone tomorrow morning, so there won't be any updates until next week. Usual story on packing... Linda ready days in advance, me a quick half hour the evening before.

Thu 05-Jun
Arrived in Perth as usual just before 4pm, train journey uneventful. Here's the tea awaiting us at Roberts. Thai curry, followed by strawberry pavlova. Delicious!

Fri 06-Jun
After a day wandering around Perth, then a good natter with mum, hoped to get some bowls practise in the evening. Ended up scoring a club tie. Here I am walking back to the B&B about 9pm through Scone Park gates, where I spent many teenage hours just hanging out.

Sat 07-Jun
After a delicious meal at Robert's this evening with cousin Ken, Becky & Gemma, here's Ken presenting the Harry Roscow trophy to us, to be presented from now on to the winner of our brotherly bowls competition. Was a gift to Ken from our granddad over 60yrs ago.
