09-Mar to 15-Mar 2014

Sun 09-Mar
Ambled around the Needingworth Nature Reserve walk from the Bluntisham end this morning under a clear blue sunny sky. As we approached Barleycroft Lake could hear a racket... hundreds of seagulls, plus loads of cormorants, geese and other birds. At least we didn't get dive bombed by terns like on our visit last year.

Mon 10-Mar
Belted down to the bowls club this morning to collect my new embroidered club shirt (£23) just before the grounds team volunteers had finished at 11.00am. Wonder what capers I'll get up to in the 2014 outdoor season.

Tue 11-Mar
Took Amelia for a walk early this afternoon, ending with the kids playground. Not sure she's enjoying her session on the swing.

Wed 12-Mar
Look who popped their heads up on the magic windowsill this morning when I looked under the plastic covers... this season's tomato plants! Hurrah!

Thu 13-Mar
Had an amble down Filbert's Walk this morning before coffee and cake at The Dolphin. Surrounded by blackthorn in flower, looked fit for a bride to walk down.

Fri 14-Mar
Bit of a result with the new allotment pond. In three & a half hours managed to convert the space from a muddy hole into this. Hope it's still full with water on the next visit.

Sat 15-Mar
Yet another result on the magic windowsill this morning... the basil has started popping up!
