29-Dec to 31-Dec 2013

Sun 29-Dec
Flippin' 'eck, that's a result! In a couple of hours on the allotment this afternoon, managed to finish flattening the bump in the central path and move and reconstruct the path between the flower bed and one of the large front beds. If only I could make that kind of progress with raising the path on the opposite side, digging over the other large front bed, repairing the greenhouse, digging in the polytunnel, digging the new small pond, putting up the shelves in the shed, starting stage 3 of the back garden redesign at home, decorating the downstairs toilet...

Mon 30-Dec
Where are all those crows going at this time of day? As I popped out early afternoon to unload the car from a shopping session at the Coop, lots of crowing started. Then hundreds of crows came flying over the house. Common to see ten or twenty flying home to roost late afternoon, but hundreds? Started to wonder what was coming our way. With all the windy weather, Linda thought a typhoon was coming.

Tue 31-Dec
Hear we are this afternoon, just before the panto performance starts of Robin Hood at the Cambridge Arts Theatre. Great fun as usual and Amelia behaved impeccably throughout, rocking back and forth to the music. When the Dame called out names of certain children to wave to, Sammy was particularly mortified to find him and Izzy, Connor and Paige, and Amelia, were included. Wonder who arranged that?
