Sun 15-Dec
Sammy's family birthday party late this afternoon, and we caught a delicious barbecue smell all the way down the path from The Rainbow. Hope that's coming from Becky's & Barry's place... and it was! Barry was outdoors lit by candlelight and head torch, grilling sausages and home made beef burgers. Along with Becky's macaroni cheese, the burgers were the hit of the night for me.
Mon 16-Dec
Monday morning market in St Ives, with the town centre full of stalls. Intended to walk down, but rain on its way. After a wander around, off to The Dolphin for lunch.
Tue 17-Dec
Another digging session this afternoon on the allotment, bathed in golden sunshine. Really mild too, as high as 14°c. Almost finished one large bed, just got a final strip to do and then move the grass path running across to line up with the other bed and enlarge the flower area in front of the shed.
Wed 18-Dec
Here we are eagerly awaiting the start of the Wheatfields School Christmas play this morning. Becky & Barry are on the front row, with me and Linda a few rows back and to the side so I can stand up and video the sausages when they do their thing. One and only time to see all four eldest grandchildren on stage in the same performance, since Connor & Sammy go to senior school next September. Got loads of footage.
Thu 19-Dec
Fri 20-Dec
Popped into Beth's on our walk back from town, to be greeted by much polishing in preparation for them leaving for a week's holiday in the Lake District. Here I am feeding Amelia. She's obviously got the Seymour appetite... just finishing a full bottle of milk after half a bottle of water and a full helping of some vegetable mush.
Sat 21-Dec
Intended to get some work down on the allotment today, but the weather was so miserable I spent a few hours getting the 2014 St Ives Flower & Produce schedule ready. Here I am on the iMac tapping away this afternoon.
