Was this the bowling green (marked by red square) my granddad bowled at more than fifty years ago? He lived in the house marked by the red circle. Sealed the map in an envelope to mum this evening for posting tomorrow. Will call her Friday to find out.

Leicester Square, just after lunch at The Ship & Shovell. There followed a few more pubs and tea, all full of good banter with old workmates John Turner, Kevin Hilditch and Terry Bacon.

That was tasty! Halloumi and chilli jam wrap and a share of skinny chips with Becky in The Taproom for lunch. They even did baked spuds for Linda. And the class of the place was evident when we asked for salt and vinegar... a sea salt grinder and vinegar in a fancy dispenser.

Thus was the point in tonight's indoor bowls match against Sawtry when I almost welled up. For the first time ever I managed to get both bowls close to the jack. Mine are the two with the orange centre. And it didn't stop there... we went on to win the match, the first time I've been on a winning team. Really felt I was beginning to get a handle on the game at last.

Look out world, Amelia Brooke Seymour is on the move! Here's one of her first crawls this afternoon while we were around Beth's for tea and Christmas cake. How do tiny babies manage to handle the coordination required to crawl like that? Amazing!
Fri 13-Dec
Is that mango seed that's been sitting on the study window ledge for a fortnight drying out ready for planting yet? Will have to call the mango expert who gave it to me...
Connor, help!
Sat 14-Dec
Christmas tree erection this morning, here's the result. Bit of a naff day otherwise... only went out to get a Chinese for tea. All time low steps record for the day of 2,012.
