Popped off to the car boot sale at Fenstanton this morning to see how Becky and Izzy were doing selling the stuff cleared out from Izzy's bedroom, and to give them a bit of a break to go see the other stalls since they'd been there from 07:30. Here they are just as I turned up about 10:00. Amazingly, Izzy sold £64 worth of toys, books etc. She knew exactly how much she'd sold since it was all written in her little notebook she's just about to show me in this snap. Sammy won't be happy, but he wasn't willing to part with any of the masses of stuff crammed into his bedroom.

Off to Brampton Mill this evening for Chris's 30th birthday meal. Here are the massed ranks of McKinnies, Seymours and Hookhams welcoming Chris just after he arrived. Chris's mum and dad and partners came too.

Where on earth did that come from? Errr... I know where it came from, but an egg more than twice the size of the normal ones? Looked to spot which chicken was walking like John Wayne to give me a clue who laid the giant, but they all walk that way anyway. Must be a double yolker.
Wed 07-Aug
Did the seven mile walk from Needingworth to Bluntisham and back along the wetland nature reserve this morning, with lunch at The Prince of Wales pub in Bluntisham. Here's one of the paths, with all the teasels in flower, meaning there were masses of butterflies, hover flies and dragon flies. Also saw several Little Egrets, Herons and Cormorants.
Thu 08-Aug
Decided to transplant the leek seedlings into their final winter bed this afternoon. Seem to have fitted quite nicely into the space allotted by Linda on the front plot... except this is only one row of seedlings transplanted, totalling 120 leeks, with another three rows yet to transplant. Might say the leeks have gone well this year!
Fri 09-Aug
With only three weeks to go to the show, popped down to The Waits this evening to put up the new banner, without the spelling mistake (Refreshements) that crept into last year's version. Already got sixty entries... will we beat last year's 460? Given our increase of about 100 each year, we may struggle to get them all in the Corn Exchange!
