Sun 26-May
Spent a blissful afternoon in the sunshine potting up and repotting plants with the radio playing classical music in the background. Although no progress on the garden redesign, at least the patio can look good. Here's the result. Still lots more to do, but good to get my favourite abutilon back in front of the dining room window, where it'll flower continuously until November.
Mon 27-May
Up the allotment late this afternoon with a famous archaeologist... here's Connor searching for treasure with his metal detector. Unfortunately the grandsons are hitting ducks at present. Connor didn't find a thing and last week Sammy couldn't find a single caterpillar. We had sandwiches, coffee and the obligatory chocolate biscuits... sure Connor didn't pause to take a breath the whole two hours we were there!
Tue 28-May
Too rainy for a game of bowls this evening, but managed to pop down to get the draws for the five singles competitions I've entered, in addition to the doubles I've entered with Chris' granddad Geoff. And in every one I've got to fight my way through the preliminary to get to the first round! Here's the draw, all to be played by 14-Jul other than as shown...
Mens 4 wood singles v David Skelton
Mixed singles v Geoff Painter
Over 60s singles v Derek Garner, by 16-Jun
Non winners' singles v Pat Cook
Mens handicapped v Mike Hall
Wed 29-May
Grey and cold day, somewhat saved by a fun game of badminton with Beth, Connor and Paige. Here they are at the beginning of the session, Paige taking 100 attempts to make one serve.

Oh my goodness!
*** I ALMOST FORGOT SAMMY'S SAUSAGES ***
Having bunged the breakfast supplies ready for Becky's overnight return from holiday in Weymouth into her fridge earlier in the day, it was only when motoring down for a Chinese this evening I realised the most important item had been omitted. The sausages! How could I forget those? Sammy can't do without his sausage. A quick pop in to purchase the Spar's finest bangers sorted the problem.
Sat 01-Jun
Much beavering away today in the garden to mow the grass, trim the tree, take rubbish to the dump and replace the flowers in the bed by the front door. Here's a quick snap of the latter, just before I collapsed in a heap for the rest of the evening.
