06-Apr to 12-Apr 2014

Sun 06-Apr
Off to the Coop supermarket just before closing time at 4.00pm this afternoon, since the freezer getting low on bread. What a bargain... £9.78 worth of fancy bread for 49p. Nice one!

Mon 07-Apr
Popped around Beth's late this afternoon to take her birthday presents. Amelia full of beans as usual. Here she is attacking me, trying to remove the various items of clothing I'd stuck on my head.

Tue 08-Apr
Agreed to do some adverts for Becky to help her sell the Focus. Nipped around to take some snaps this afternoon. She also popped it on Gumtree. Didn't get a chance to do the adverts... within the hour it was sold! She got a call from someone in Cambridge who came out straight away and paid her cash!

Wed 09-Apr

John and me have started playing golf. This morning was the second battle. Here he is driving off on the 7th... the best drive yet, in spite of dropping his shoulder. Landed just a short pitch off the green. I'd taken two to get off the tee and played much worse than our first game yesterday afternoon. No surprise I lost today, 51 v 45 for nine holes. Much room for improvement!

Thu 10-Apr
Cambridge Arts Theatre this afternoon to see David Essex in The Dishwashers. Amusing and thoughtful. After sat by The Cam watching the boats sculling up and down.

Fri 11-Apr

Walked into town with Connor and Sammy this morning to have lunch at The Dolphin. Before the meal we sat in the sunshine admiring the bowling green, me taking another stab at persuading them to give bowls a try. Here we are about half way on the trip down. They were chatting like this all the way there, back and while in town. The video has been stopped just at the point where they start to discuss the various sizes of their teachers' behinds.
Sat 12-Apr
Didn't take long this afternoon to take water out of the leaky pond, pull the rigid lining out with some water and the plants left in it and make the hole a bit more 'interesting'. What did take ages was opening out the huge PVC lining and fitting it into the hole on top of the felt backing. Here's the result. Left it like this overnight to settle.
