Sun 05-May
Happy birthday Amelia Brooke Seymour, 0 years old today! Another addition to the collection of beautiful granddaughters. Got the call to babysit just before 2:00am while Beth and Chris dashed off to the maternity unit. Amelia was born 4.55am weighing 8lb 1oz. She seems really contented, hardly a squeak out of her all afternoon.
Mon 06-May
First ever visit to John's and Stacey's new home for tea with Kevin and Corinne, Stacey's parents. Arrived early to help plant some annual seeds in their garden. Gifted John our old push along mower... here he is hacking away at the grass. Stacey had cornered the world's supply of salad and snacks... think John's going to look like a vegetable by the time he finishes eating the leftovers!
Tue 07-May
Another four edging bricks laid early this afternoon, squeezed between chasing sponsorship for the Flower & Produce Show, and after dashing off to squash against David, then around Beth's to see how Amelia, Paige and Connor are doing. At this rate it'll be Christmas before I've even finished stage 1, the partial edging of the patio!
Wed 08-May
Signs of Paige softening to her new sister? Having walked Jazz up to Becky's to escort her, Izzy and Sammy to school (earlier 'cause Becky is working at preschool), then ambled round to Beth's to walk with her and the kids to school. Where's Connor? By my side chatting away as usual!
Thu 09-May
Did my brother really just hand me the key to his brand new Scirocco GT? Here am I, fighting the urge to navigate the beast to mum's house via Inverness, with flashing dashboard lights that would do Blackpool illuminations proud. Only managed to stall it twice... and once more on the way back to Scone Bowling Club. After some consideration I'm sure the Fiat Panda has a tad more acceleration ~;0)
Fri 10-May
Scone Bowling Club with my brothers. One of my favourite places, with favourite company. Just as well Andrew and me lost four straight pool games to Robert and friend Colin. Another whisky and I'd never have found my way home in the dark along Scone Burn.
Sat 11-May
The big climb today, all 2,760 ft to the summit of Ben Y Vrackie with Andrew and friend Jackie. Fortunately clear, although besides wind and rain, it hail stormed while we were eating lunch. Climbed in memory of my dad. Able to see his resting place in Pitlochry from the top.
