Sun 28-Oct: Climbed to Scone pinnacle with Andrew this morning. Here's the view of Scone and Perth from the top. |
Mon 29-Oct: On one of our many walks from Perth to Scone, went via Quarrymill. Here's the colourful display of the autumn leaves. Another fun packed day... lunch at Bonhard Nurseries with mum and Robert, shopping in Perth then tea and Trivial Pursuit at Robert's. |
Tue 30-Oct: Picked up by Becky at the station after our brilliant stay in Scotland, and then round her house for the birthday party laid on for me from 18:00. Beth did a rainbow birthday cake, well hidden here by the grandchildren crowding around for their piece of the action. |
Wed 31-Oct: The grandchildren are getting wise to having their photos taken. Here they are at Beth's Halloween party dressed up for trick or treat... and all hiding their faces! |
Thu 01-Nov: Couldn't believe the value of this mini stainless steel propelling pencil for £2.81. With spare erasers and leads total cost £6.44. Its the final step in my preparations to move over to a paper diary for 2013, already having bought a Moleskin diary in Perth last week. Hopefully it'll be goodbye to frustrating lists kept on my mobile 'phone app. Of course the paper diary doesn't do alarms, so may occasionally turn up late or not at all! |
Fri 02-Nov: When leaving The Dolphin this morning after the usual coffee and cake, again spotted the inscription under St Ives bridge that Andrew asked about during our September canoe event. One enquiry later at The Norris Museum and all was revealed. The Margetts were quite a big family in St Ives, involved in the building trade. They supplied the bricks for The Causeway, and it looks like they renovated part of the bridge in 1816. |
Sat 03-Nov: Here's the 14 of us at The Dolphin, just finished our main course after watching the spectacular firework display over the water meadow from the comfort of the restaurant. Had to take speedily and from a distance, otherwise the grandchildren disappear. |
