14-Oct to 20-Oct 2012

Sun 14-Oct: Here's the wobble machine all ready for a cycle down to The Legion tonight... and a wobble back. Been meaning to give the Pashley a good going over for some time, at last managed to squeeze it in this afternoon. Main task was to clean the chain and cogs with WD40... my solution to everything in the past has always been a good dab of grease, but now no longer sold on the idea having seen how it clogged up my chain.

Mon 15-Oct: The allotment association AGM tonight here at the Corn Exchange, and me divesting myself of the meetings, membership and newsletter roles to three other willing members. Didn't get off scot free though... still got to write up the AGM minutes and email files with explanations of how I've performed the roles.

Tue 16-Oct: Here we go again... after September's disappointment that Apple didn't announce their updated iMac at the same time as the iPhone 5, here's the invite sent out to journalists for their announcement next Tue 23-Oct. Rumour is there's a new smaller iPad, updated 13" laptop and Mac mini... and hopefully the beautiful new iMac, being step 2 in my quest to convert technology-wise to all things Apple (the iPhone is next year's target). £1,200 has been burning a hole in my pocket awaiting the update, so yet another week this month hoping and waiting!

Wed 17-Oct: Here's the start of the long dig this afternoon to prepare the allotment for winter. Pretty pleased with progress though, given I only had about an hour.

Thu 18-Oct: Parked the car by Hartford Church and walked along Riverside Walk into Huntingdon this morning heading for Wilkinson's. After a coffee and cake in Sainsbury's, spotted this advert for house signs. Been meaning to get a stylish new sign for the house, something acrylic and colourful.

Fri 19-Oct: Here I am early evening at the library, reading the latest Which magazine. Just love popping down on Friday late night opening to gather the latest batch of reserved books, read the newspapers and magazines and have a look at what else is on offer. Intended to make it even more sublime by cycling down, but too rainy ~:0(

Sat 20-Oct: Here's the wallpapering job half completed at Beth's, three hours into a job I thought was only going to take me a couple of hours in total. So didn't finish until 17:00. Reminder to self... next time daughters are out buying wallpaper, make sure I go with them to ensure the paper is colour fast and strong.
